As the current Chief Operations Officer at Emergi-Clean and the Director of Education at the Mitigation Safety Institute, I am passionate about empowering the disaster remediation workforce through innovative training programs. I believe in engaging students, challenging their perspectives, and creating transformative learning experiences that drive meaningful impact in the industry.

My journey reflects a lifelong commitment to service and emergency response, combining hands-on fieldwork with academic pursuits. I began my career working for my family’s biohazard remediation company, gaining early exposure to disaster site management and emergency response. At the age of 16, I became an EMT in New Jersey and a first responder for a local borough, further solidifying my passion for public safety and community service.

The events of 9/11 had a profound impact on me, reinforcing the importance of emergency response and disaster preparedness. After high school, I pursued a deeper understanding of these critical areas by attending the University of Central Florida, where I earned a Master of Science in Criminal Justice. During my time there, I developed a strong interest in public health, which broadened my perspective on emergency management and community safety.

After graduation, I initially pursued a career in government but eventually realized my true calling was in the public sector. This realization led me back to my roots, where I assumed leadership of my family’s biohazard remediation business. Immersing myself in the disaster site remediation industry, I sought to enhance my expertise through specialized certifications and extensive fieldwork. Over the years, I developed a deep understanding of the challenges within this field, including navigating the complexities—or lack—of regulations, promoting safety awareness, and advancing industry-specific knowledge. My teams and I have responded to numerous critical incidents, earning government commendations for our contributions to public safety and disaster response efforts.

Recognizing the need for continued growth, I decided to pursue a Doctorate in Public Health (DrPH) at Rutgers University, focusing on occupational and environmental health safety within the disaster site remediation industry. As a current DrPH candidate working on my dissertation, my research explores innovative solutions to improve safety and preparedness in this high-stakes field.

Today, I am a dedicated industry trainer, consultant, author, and advisor specializing in safety protocols and CBRNE (Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosive) response. My expertise spans the practical, academic, and regulatory aspects of disaster site remediation, enabling me to deliver comprehensive guidance and innovative solutions. With decades of experience, advanced education, and proven leadership, I am committed to empowering others and advancing the safety and effectiveness of this essential industry.
